BlackBerry smartphones help ClickIT streamline its business
ClickIT, the winner of the "BlackBerry® Mobility Makeover" on Classic FM, has reported that the BlackBerry® solution that was won in this competition has helped it to reduce internal costs and streamline its workflow.
As the winner of the competition, ClickIT received 23 BlackBerry® Bold™ smartphones BlackBerry® Professional Software and the necessary software licenses courtesy of Research In Motion (RIM). Darest, a RIM alliance partner, was responsible for the implementation and configuration of the solution.
ClickIT is a medium-sized ICT solutions provider with a workforce comprised largely of mobile technicians and sales consultants. The company reports that the BlackBerry solution has helped it to improve turnaround times, boost customer service and increase productivity by enabling mobile workers to stay in touch with the office wherever they are.
Says Daniel Turtledove, director of Business Solutions at ClickIT: "This prize has been fantastic for us - we have seen definite improvements in our workflow since we started using the BlackBerry solution. It's as if our technicians and sales consultants are always at their desks because of the access to information, communication tools and other employees they have through their BlackBerry smartphones."
Mobile workers at ClickIT now count on their BlackBerry smartphones for mobile access to email, instant messaging and calendaring wherever they are. This has helped to change the way the company works for the better. Rather than needing to make a phone call to confirm a piece of information or obtain pricing, sales staff can send an instant message or email instead.
In the past, ClickIT made extensive use of SMS messaging for communications between the office and mobile workers. Now, the company is saving money every month by using BlackBerry Instant Messenger as its main internal communications tool.
Mobile employees no longer need to come into the office to check their calendars and email since they can do it whenever they have a free moment using their BlackBerry smartphones. This effectively saves time and money for ClickIT by adding precious minutes and hours to mobile employees' working days.
Darest was responsible for the installation and configuration of the BlackBerry solution. Turtledove reports that this process was quick and simple, with the solution linking into the company's Microsoft® Exchange server and requiring no extra hardware or networking investment.

Classic FM announce Click IT as a Winner of the Small Business Entrepreneur Network Competition.
